This place was terrible! Restraints for no reason, uncaring staff, no cameras, no order, and when something was reported no one did anything about it! I was restrained because the staff provoked me to the point of crying and would not let me leave the room. In the restraint, a 500 pound staff member put me in a chokehold while laying across my back! And all I was doing was sitting in a corner crying. Not a danger to myself or others. When I reported it, CPS did NOTHING! In fact, I was forced to stay there for a full six months. The staff picked on me because of my beliefs, and even allowed the other residents to do the same. The staff also allowed multiple girls to attack another girl and did not break up the fights. The housing was almost as bad. Four girls in a room that could barely fit three, and four of those rooms; not enough seating for all of the girls and four staff; very little food; residents forced to clean up after the staff; three bathrooms for all of the girls to share; supposedly 15 minutes for evening hygiene and 10 for morning, but the staff gave less than 5 minutes for some girls and payed no attention to their "favorites". The list goes on. There was this one girl, the youngest of all of the girls, whom was autistic. She needed someone to show her how to bath and many other things, especially love, but the staff made fun of her because of how she smelled, would not teach her how to bathe, let the other residents pick on her, write her up for improper hygiene, and, this causing her to act out, would use inappropriate forms of restraint to make her stop. Overall, I say this place needs to be shut down and the staff never allowed to work with children again. For any parents, guardians, or caseworkers whom are planning on sending a child there, PLEASE, I beg you as a former resident, do NOT send the child there. They will come out worse than when they went in!
